Is an upper mustang permit required?

YES! Trekking in Nepal’s Annapurna conservation area requires a special permit, ACAP permit, and TIMS. As a result, ensure that you have all necessary permits and have completed all necessary formalities.

What Permits Do I Require?

Everyone entering the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) area must obtain an entry permit, which costs $20 per person for a single entry but is valid for the duration of the trek. There are no time limits on how long a person can stay in the ACAP area. Furthermore, anyone going into Upper Mustang (from Kagbeni onwards) needs a RAP (Restricted Area Permit).
