Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking

The Tamang Heritage trail trek is one of the new treks. This trek combines an enchanting journey wherein you can enjoy the magnificent mountain views with the insight into the unique Tamang culture, alpine terrain, green meadows, and rhododendron forest. Trekking through Tamang village gives you a wonderful opportunity to closely observe the community’s lifestyle, culture. You can also enjoy the craftwork such as bamboo baskets and mats.

Tamang Heritage Trail and Langtang valley trek present the dramatic views of Langtang Lirung (7245m), LangtangKerung, ChumseDanda ridge (5122m), DorjeLakpa (6989m). You can also enjoy the view of JugalHimal, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak, ShringiHimal, Manaslu and SanjenHimal ranges. Glaciers of varying sizes and high altitude lakes namely Gosiakunda, Pravatikuda, Bhairavkunda, and Dudhkunda are found along the Tamang Heritage trek.

The trail starts from Syabru Bensi, passes through Gatlang,  then Thuman, Timure, and Briddim after six hours drive from Kathmandu. Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Sanjen Himal, Tibetian Mountains, and many snow-capped peaks can be seen from this trail. In the month of March and April, rhododendron blooms with different spices of trees, birds, and butterflies. Those who are seeking for the non-touristic area, heritage, and also the traditional lifestyle of indigenous Tamang people. We highly recommend and leads your footpath.
