The Makalu base camp trekking route lies in the eastern part of Nepal. Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Project protect this region. Makalu (8485m) is the world’s fifth highest mountain having an awesome landscape, Himalayan peaks and alpine beauty.  This trail is also popular as off beaten area because of the geographical isolation as well as diverse climate condition. Which is normally caused by harmful mountain sickness. The rewards of trekking are great but hard because of its remoteness and wilderness areas. Which are only for the experienced trekkers who want solace and serenity in spotless natural gorgeousness.

Makalu Barun National Park includes 3000 species of flower plants such as 25 species of rhododendron, 47 types of orchids, 56 types of rare plants, 440 species of birds, 75 species of mammals including red panda, snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, clouded leopard, Ghoral tahr, wild boar, barking deer, Himalayan marmot, weasel, langur monkey and serow.

Makalu Base Camp trekking begins after having half an hour flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar. Then drive to Chilchila and trek up to Base camp. The lower part of Makalu trekking occupies renowned lushness with verdant rhododendron forests whereas the upper part of the trail comprises the swarming image of waterfall, glaciers and a stunning view of Himalayan sights such as Chamlang (7319m), Baruntse (7129m) Mera Peak (6654m) and Makalu(8485m).
