Lower Dolpo trek lies in Dolpa which is the largest district located in the Northern Western part of Nepal. Which has the perfect trekking scenario of Phoksundo Lake, Pre-Buddhist religion of “Bon Po”, the land of the Oscar-nominated movie ‘Himalaya’ high Himalayan passes of Numa La (5190m) and Baga La (5070m) with beautiful villages of Dolpo people who keep their old tradition of trade with Tibet by using Yaks.

Lower Dolpo trekking is the best trek for real adventure aspiration for an off-the-beaten-path experience. Out trek begins From Jhupal after 35 minutes scenic flight from Nepalgunj. The trail continues to Dunai heading north along with Dho Tarap village, an area inhabited by Tibetan Buddhists. Then the trek passes through Shey Phoksundo National Park with magnificent mountain scenery, Buddhist monasteries, Yak caravans. Similarly, adventure Pass of Baga La/Numa La and the trail back to Dunai along with the Phoksundo River. As it flows to Phoksundo Lake on their long passes to Bay of Bangal via Ganga attracts the tourists.

Lower Dolpo Trekking is one of the uniquely popular remote and untouched geographical regions. It is surrounded by a chain of the Himalayas, natural beauty, vivid landscapes and breathing experience of a lifetime. Ancient and remote Buddhist villages, rich wildlife, typical Buddhist monasteries, wooded areas, and wonderful lakes are the major characteristics of Lower Dolpo regions. While trekking through the Sey Phoksundo National Park one can observe the various types of flora and fauna as well as rare wild animals such as Blue Sheep, Himalayan Wolf, Himalayan Black Deer, and Spotted Leopard extra with the chirping sound of birds. Lower Dolpo trek is suitable for those who are looking for calm to exhausting comparatively.  Also more remote and fewer tourists with high altitude passes and cultural wonders.
