Kaligandaki river Rafting

The river is named after the Hindu goddess of destruction, Kali, the river in Mustang. It lies on the northern side of the Himalayan range. As it tumbles down between the majestic Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna ranges, it creates one of the world’s deepest river canyons. Nice drops, sparkling chutes and turbulent rapids provide class III to IV + runs during the fall and spring seasons. Kaligandaki river rafting is bold and tenacious.

At Kalopani this river drops off the roof of the world. It cuts one of the deepest gorges in the world. After the confluence with the Modi Khola, the river swings south through an area where until recently, tourist were almost unknown. There are few villages actually on the river, most ate located on the river terraces some hundreds of meters above. This is a good river for drifting with floated boats or rafter and kayakers with limited experience. This is rewarding place for the birdwatchers and we have also seen mongoose, monkey’s and sign of leopards and others.
