Buried between steep ice giants, the Rolwaling Valley is reputed to be the home of the infamous Yeti. We approach the valley through the charming terraced foothills of Tamang and Chetri villages. Once beneath the sacred Gauri Shankar we climb through primeval forests to the Tsho Rolpa Lake. The northern flank of Pachermo, which rises above us, provides the route over the Tashi Labtsa (5755m) into the Everest region.

Day 14 Days Trekking, New Rolwaling
Rolwaling Valley is the east-west valley below Mt. Gaurishankar (7145m) and just south from the Tibetan boarder. This is totally isolated and culturally diverse area. This is a restricted area but trekking trip can be taken to the area obtaining a climbing permit for one of the trekking peak of this area such as for Ramdung peak. The area is just south from the Tibetan boarder so it is more like Tibetan culture are here. The area contain of cultural and isolated village, glacier lakes and so on.

ITINERARY
Day 01 Arrive at Kathmandu Duration: Height: 1300m
Transfer to Hotel.
Day 02 Kathmandu Duration: 4 hrs Height: 1300m
Half day sightseeing around Kathmandu.
Day 03 Kathmandu – Barhabise Duration: 6 hrs drive Height: 820m
Drive by local bus or a private bus can be organized) Camp in Barhabise. Barhabise is a commercial town settled by Newar community.
Day 04: Barhabise – Devisthan. Duration: 6hrs Height: 1800m
Devisthan means in Nepali the home of Goddess. This is a small Tamang village. The day can be very good and interesting starting trek along the farming terraces and villages.
Day 05: Devisthan – Ki Dorje Duration: 6 hrs Height: 3000m
Ascending through some Sherpa and Tamang villages and cultivated lands with some small forest
Day 06: Ki Dorje – Bigu Goampa Duration: 6hrs Height: 2500m
Bigu Goampa is a famous Buddhist Monastery for nuns. It is also one of the oldest Monasteries we can observe. So, the trekking camp is set there. The trek goes from Ki Dorje steeply up crossing over a pass of 3300m “Thing Sang La”. The great Himalayan View of Rolwaling can be seen from the route.
Day 07: Bigu Goampa – Laduk Phedi, Duration: 6hrs Height: 1200m
This day is pleasant walking with beautiful mountain views and nice landscape through villages. Camping side is also unforgettable.
Day 08: Laduk Phedi – Gurumphi, Duration: 6hrs Height: 1300m
This day will be a pleasant day walking through a nice valley and viewing great shape of Gaurishankar. A small but beautiful riverside will fix our camp.
Day 09: Gurumphi – Hulak Duration: 6 hrs Height: 2500m
A hard ascending walk goes along the ridge through pine forest and a small typical Sherpa village. Camp by the village. The Himalayan view of this day is fantastic with beautiful landscapes. The Gaurishankar Himal and other snow peaks can be seen.
Day 10: Hulak – Goyang Danda Duration: 6hrs Height: 3400m
Ascending walk along the ridge and through forest and away of human life is the most to experience from now on. Himalayan views are even getting closer.
Day 11: Goyang Danda Duration: all day Height: 3400m

Day 12: Goyang Danda – Baramji Duration: 4hrs Height: 3900m
Breathing in high altitude, enjoying the best-seen Himalayas and being on the sub-alpine zone are ever memorable in one trekker's life. Some Himalayan wild animals and birds can be encountered sometimes.
Day 13: Baramji – Patibara La Duration: 6hrs
Height: 3600m
Hike about 2 hrs to a peak (4500m) to give a look at the Himalayas and head down to the next camp. The next camp can be reached in 3 hours walking downhill from the top. Camp at Patibara La.
Day 14: Patibara La – Cherdung Duration: 5hrs Height: 3800m
Beautiful walk through pine and rhododendron forest. The real experience of high pasture can be observed in the day with love scenery of Himalayas.
Day 15 Cherdung – Jiri Duration: 7hrs Height: 1950m
After walking about 6-7 hrs from Cherdung, we reach to the final camp in Jiri. This day we walk through beautiful forest and along ridges is the most exciting of the day.
Day 16: Jiri – Kathmandu. Duration: 10hrs Height: 1300m
It is long drive several times down and up driving in narrow road crossing Tamakosi, Bhotekosi and Sunkosi rivers.
